What Do We Know About Splinterlands’ Land 1.0 Release?
The land release is called “The Secret of Praetoria“. In this phase, players can start benefiting from owning land for the first time. After claiming land NFTs, holders can then construct buildings, harvest resources, and produce new cards to help dominate the world of Praetoria.
Praetoria has 150 land regions, each containing 1000 land plots. The land Plots are divided into 10 different tracts within each region. Additionally, the regions are grouped into 7 different territories made up of 20 to 22 regions each.

This Splinterlands team has been working on this lands rollout for a long time. It is a foundational piece of the long-term vision for the game. The Splinterlands team commented, ““We hope that everyone is as excited as we are for this monumental launch! Land has been a long time coming and we couldn’t be happier to be delivering on it!”
By releasing the new update, the team has pulled back the curtain on many of the game’s core systems and mechanics. There will subsequently be an additional 2.0 release that will unlock additional features and allow for card staking in the near future.
What is Splinterlands?
To clarify, Splinterlands is a decentralized digital collectible trading card game built on the Hive blockchain. Players use over 500 cards to battle each other in one-on-one showdowns. Unlike Pokemon or Magic: The Gathering, Splinterlands games take only a couple minutes to complete.
As of today, Splinterlands players have won over $6.8 in prizes during tournament play. The team behind Splinterlands have certainly established themselves as leaders in the blockchain gaming space. Now, with the release of the Secret of Praetoria, they look to build upon an already impressive product.
